Nature Center and Observatory Set Holiday

The Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave., will be closed for Christmas on Monday, December 25 and New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, 2018. The Nature Center's regular hours, including trails and the Prairie Building are Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The Chet Ager building winter hours through April 2 are Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The Hyde Memorial Observatory, on the south side of Holmes Lake, will be closed Saturday, December 23 and December 30 to observe the Christmas and New Year's holidays. The volunteer-run observatory is generally open from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays from October through March. Admission is free. Visitors can observe views of the night skies through three telescopes. Astronomy programs are presented throughout the evening, and the programs change monthly.
