Adults with diabetes, their family members and friends are invited to a series of free Aging Partners workshops from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, from March 7 through April 11. The six-week Diabetes Self-Management Workshop will be held at Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th Street.
Registration is required by calling 402-441-7575, and class size is limited. Although the workshops are free, a suggested contribution of $4 per class is appreciated. Diabetes management information covered in the workshops includes:
"We are very excited to be able to offer these workshops," said Peggy Apthorpe, Aging Partners Health and Fitness Manager. "Living with diabetes has many challenges, but these courses will help provide some valuable information and perhaps lift the spirits of those who must deal with these issues on a daily basis."
