Aging Partners New Fitness Center to Open Next Month

No fitness facilities available next week during move

The new Aging Partners Health and Fitness Center at 555 S. 9th Street is expected to open Monday, March 5. An open house for the new center at 9th and "J" streets will be scheduled at a later date.

The current facility at 233 S. 10th Street will close Monday, February 26. No fitness facility will be available next week while the offices and equipment are moved to the new site.

Starting March 5, the new center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and will provide a variety of fitness classes, exercise and cardio equipment. There is a $10 suggested monthly contribution for those age 60 and over and a $15 fee for those under age 60. A certified personal trainer is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment. On-street parking will be available along "J" and 8th streets. There is also a sheltered bus stop just east of the building on 9th Street.

Aging Partners Health and Fitness programs focus on strength, vitality, injury prevention and health. Individuals are encouraged to take measures that decrease risk, promote optimum health and encourage independent living. All ages are invited and welcome to work out at the Fitness Center and attend classes.
