The public launch party for the BikeLNK bike share program has been postponed from this afternoon due to weather. It will now take place at 4 p.m. Friday, April 20. The event starts with a program at the Lincoln Community Foundation Gardens, 1415 "N" Street. Riders will leave from there at 4:30 p.m. to ride to the Railyard for a celebration until 6 p.m.
The BikeLNK service will make 100 bikes available at 19 locations in downtown Lincoln and on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campuses. The public can access the bikes by purchasing passes that can be used at bike station kiosks or through a mobile app or website. The passes range from a single trip to a one-year membership.
BikeLNK is a public bike share system owned by the City of Lincoln and operated by Heartland Bike Share on behalf of B-Cycle LLC. Sponsors of BikeLNK and the launch include the Lincoln Community Foundation, Spreetail, UNL and Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska.
