Lincoln City Libraries invites the public to help celebrate the launch of a website dedicated to Nebraska authors with a John H. Ames Reading Series event Sunday, April 22. The event will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and includes a demonstration of the new NebraskaAuthors.org site. The celebration also includes readings by a panel of contemporary Nebraska authors moderated by Charlene Neely and Gerry Cox, editors of "Guide to More Nebraska Authors."
NebraskaAuthors.org is the result of a partnership between the Lincoln City Libraries Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors and UNL's Center for Digital Research in the Humanities. The site is designed to highlight the wide-ranging talents and influence of Nebraska writers.
"The NebraskaAuthors.org website will serve to carry the Heritage Room mission into the future," said Erin Willis, Heritage Room Curator. "It will enrich and deepen our appreciation of the authors who have defined Nebraska, and whose work has brought the spirit and essence of Nebraska to the world through their writing."
