Pavement repair at the intersection of North 27th and Superior streets will start June 4 and continue through June 27. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in all directions, including left turn lanes. Digital message boards will alert drivers to changes.
The project is designed to increase safety and life expectancy of the street by repairing cracked and potholed sections and sealing joints and small cracks to prevent weather-related deterioration. This is the final portion of the projects initiated in 2017 to repair concrete on N. 27th Street from Cornhusker Highway to Fletcher Avenue and Superior Street from N. 27th to Cornhusker Highway. These remaining repairs were delayed until this year to coordinate with favorable construction weather and lower traffic volumes associated with school not being in session.
Lincoln residents are reminded to exercise caution around construction crews. The Public Works and Utilities Department appreciates the public's patience during this project.
