The public is invited to help clean up Roper East Park, 9th and Adams streets, from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 20. Lincoln Parks and Recreation will work with volunteers to help remove small volunteer trees within the long grass areas. The group will meet at 9th Street and Butler Avenue. Parking is available along the west side of 9th Street near Adams Street, east of the dog run.
Registration is not required, but volunteers may register in advance by sending an email to email@example.com or visiting parks.lincoln.ne.gov/volunteer. New volunteers are asked to complete the volunteer application form at this site.
Supplies will be provided. Participants should dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring garden gloves. If weather causes a postponement, registered participants will be notified of the rain date.
The event is part of the 2018 VIP (Volunteer in Parks) Saturday series. The final event will be from 8 to 11 am. November 17, and the location and activity will be announced later.
