Education Community Health Outreach (ECHO)

We are looking for creative and motivated people who want to JOIN OUR TEAM! Lincoln Parks and Recreation AmeriCorps members provide direct service through academic assistance, academic clubs, fitness, nutrition education, health education, GED, job skills support and ESL activities to low income children, youth and adults. We have members throughout Lincoln doing GREAT WORK!

Go Green Project

We are looking for creative and motivated people who want to JOIN OUR TEAM! Lincoln Parks and Recreation AmeriCorps members provide direct service through youth-based academic clubs focused on the sciences and math education as it is related to the environment, energy-efficiency practices, sustainable agriculture, animals and nature. City parks, trails, public gardens will be cleaned and improved. The Public will receive education or training on energy efficient and environmentally conscious practices including but not limited to sustainable energy and other natural resources and sustainable agriculture.

Full Time positions:

  • 1710 hour commitment
  • $12,100 living allowance, paid out bi-weekly
  • $5,550 Education Award upon successful completion
  • Must have high school diploma or GED prior to end of term
  • Fixed benefits that Memebers may be receiving prior to joining in many cases will not be affected by the AmeriCorps living allowance
  • Health benefits offered, day care subsidy if income eligible, student loan forbearance offered
  • Members will serve 40 hours per weekdays, evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the site

Half Time positions:

  • 910 hour commitment
  • $6,405 living allowance, paid out bi-weekly
  • $2,775 Education Award upon successful completion
  • Student loan forbearance offered
  • Members will serve 20 hours per week depending on the needs of the site
