Room or Building Rentals
Calvert Recreation Center is available to rent for your reunion, birthday party, meeting or event. Rental includes use of game room with foosball, pool, bumper pool, ping-pong and shuffleboard. Gym also may be available for an additional fee. Call us for more information and to book your event.

Team Practice Times

Basketball
Day/Time: Tuesday & Wednesdays | 5:30-6:25pm, 6:30-7:25pm
Day/Time: Saturday, 1-5p starting 11/1 | Saturday, 9-5p starting 12/1
Fee: $15/half/55 min., $30/full/55 min.

Programs for Adults

Indoor Walking - Ages 18+
Stay fit during all types of weather by walking in our comfortable 20 lap/mile gym. Call ahead for availability on nonschool days.
Days: Monday-Friday
Time: 8a–11a | Fee: Free
Time: 11a–2:30p | Fee: $2.00

Pickleball
A fun paddle sport for all skill levels that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
Days: Tuesdays
Time: 11a - 12pm
Fees: $14/session
Dates: Session 1: Oct 6 - 27 | Session 2: Nov 3 -24

Ceramics - 18+
Learn ceramics basics: cleaning green ware, glazing, staining, lustering, dry brushing and decals.
Days: Mon | Time: 5:30-7:00p
Fees: $21/session (plus cost of pieces; includes firing)
Dates: Sept 14-Oct 5, Oct 12-Nov 2, Nov 9-30, Dec 7-28

Widowed Persons Services
Support, friendship and social activities for widows and widowers.
Days: Sundays- 2nd & 4th Sunday during Sept-Jan
Time: 2-4 pm
Fee: Free

Programs for Youth

Before & After School   Keyword: School
When school’s not in session, check out our School’s Out programs. We offer a variety of programs for children throughout the year. Most programs include activities such as academic support, sports skills, games, arts, crafts, nature activities, cultural celebrations, stories, music, songs, social skill development, and computer skills. All our programs are adult supervised. Title XX accepted and need based scholarships are available.

Kids Day Off & Kids Week Off   Keyword: Off
Program is offered on days and weeks when school is not in session during the school year. Advanced registration is required. Participants are asked to wear active clothing and footwear. Title XX accepted and need based scholarships are available.

Creative Link One - Ages 3-4  Keyword: Preschool
A pre-school program focused on music and art activities. Research shows enhanced development with these activities in early childhood. Goals are increased social skills and creativity. A variety of other activities are also presented. Program is ongoing once registered. New registrations accepted as space available. Fees paid by month. Registration for fall begins May 1.

Creative Link Two - Ages 4-5  Keyword: Preschool
A program for preschoolers. The spotlight will be on more intricate music and art as well as other early childhood themes. Goals are increased social skills and creativity appropriate for the older preschooler. Program is ongoing once registered. New registrations accepted as space available. Fees paid by month. Registration for fall begins May 1.

Programs for Families - All Ages

Ceramics Make and Take
A variety of ready-to-paint ceramic pieces (holidays, animals, decorations and more). A great family or individual activity. Your completed pieces make superb home decorations or gifts. Two pieces, all paints and tools provided each meeting. Additional pieces available for $5 each. Call ahead to register, 402-441-8480

Origami Class
This workshop for both individuals and families introduces the joy of paper folding, preserving its history and nurturing its growth. Designed for adults 18+ (and youth 12+ with an adult). *No class Nov/25

Dates: Halloween: Sept 23 - Oct 28, Christmas: Nov 4 - Dec 16*, Valentine’s Day: Jan 13 - Feb 17

Family Gingerbread House Making
Join us for this great family event. You get the structure and all the goodies to make a fun holiday decoration.
