Facility Rentals

Picnic Loan
Make any event more fun with our equipment loan program. Quick, affordable rentals of all your old-time favorites: bingo, bocce, croquet, gunny sacks, horseshoes, parachutes, tug-of-war, water coolers, and plenty more! Call us for a complete list or to reserve items for your next family reunion, picnic or backyard party.

PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH
Dual Language Preschool - Ages 3-5
Our dual language preschool program allows children of all language backgrounds to grow by incorporating new experiences into their daily routine. Thematic content supports language development in English and Spanish and allows preschoolers to have fun while playing and learning kindergarten readiness skills. Creative Play: Ages 3-5
Creative play is fundamental to your child’s development. Our teacher will lead songs, games, stories, art activities, and imaginative play according to each day’s theme.

Yoga Animals: Ages 3-5 +parent

Our experienced National Archery in the Schools Program® trained staff will introduce participants to range safety and etiquette and proven skills for archery success.

Scout Badge Work, Ages 11-17
Cycling
Learn and practice skills required to earn the BSA® Cycling merit badge. Non-scouts are also welcome! Bring your own bicycle and helmet.

Taught by an Irving Rec. Center’s National Archery in the Schools Program® trained archery instructor. Learn and practice skills required to earn the BSA® Archery merit badge using a compound bow. Non-scouts are also welcome!

China Painting
Irving Recreation Center has offered china painting classes for both beginning and experienced painters since 1991 and is home to some of the finest china painting hobbyists around. Classes taught by Peg Pelter. Register seven days prior to the start date.

China Painting Workshops

Grape Workshop
Luscious, ripe, and rich grapes painted on a gray. Students can choose between two different color schemes.
Date: September 1
Fruit Workshop
Students can finish the second fire on last month’s grape projects or paint fruit designs on plates or tiles.

Birds Workshop
Pheasants, geese, and ducks. Projects for the sportsman in your family, painted on a mug, tankard, or box. A good seminar for students who want to learn to paint birds.

Santa Portraits Workshop
Students can choose between a black penwork Santa design or choose a traditional Santa portrait on an 8” coupe plate. Other portrait designs will also be available.

Gifts Workshop
End of the year wrap up. Finish up those gifts for the Holiday Season. Also, quick one-fire projects for those unexpected gifts. Glass candle holders and penwork refrigerator magnet patterns will be available.
