PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH
Dual Language Preschool - Ages 3-5 Keyword: Preschool Keyword: Preschool
Our dual language preschool program allows children of all language backgrounds to grow by incorporating new experiences into their daily routine. Thematic content supports language development in English and Spanish and allows preschoolers to have fun while playing and learning kindergarten readiness skills. Junior Robotics, Ages 6-9 Keyword: Robotics
Focused on building an interest in science and engineering in children, Junior FIRST® LEGO® League (Jr.FLL®) is a handson program designed to capture young children's curiosity and direct it toward discovering the possibilities of improving the world around them. Children will research a topic, create a poster presenting that research, build a LEGO model with at least one motorized part that addresses the topic researched, and present what they have learned to a reviewer in a non-competitive, fun, high energy environment. Fee includes instruction, t-shirt, and event registration.

Beginning Archery Class, Ages 6+ Keyword: Archery
This will be an instructional session tailored to the beginner archer. Class includes the basics of archery; 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of open range time. Register at least seven days prior to the start of the session.

Families on Target: Open Archery Range Keyword: Archery
This is an open archery range opportunity for individuals and families. The range will be monitored by National Archery in the Schools (NASP) trained recreation staff for safety. Equipment is provided.

Archery Badge Work, ages 11-17 Keyword: Badge
Troops can learn and practice skills required to earn the BSA® Archery merit badge using a compound bow. Merit badge counselor and archery equipment provided. Call 402-441-7954 to schedule a class.
Fee: $22.50/scout for 5 hours of instruction.
After School Program Keyword: After School
During after school hours at Irving Recreation Center, Irving Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of age-appropriate, fun, and enriching activities. Students can stay as busy as they’d like with homework, clubs, and special events, or they can simply choose to socialize with friends. We encourage all students to be engaged and take advantage of the activity choices available at the recreation center.

The Day Camp program at Irving Recreation Center strives for the development of excellence in each individual camper and takes pride in building positive relationships with each camper and their family.

PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS - Ages 18+
China Painting Keyword: Adult Art
Irving Recreation Center has been home to some of the finest china painting hobbyists around since 1991. Instructed by Lincoln artist Peg Pelter, an overglaze specialist who paints on porcelain, tile, and pottery. Her work has appeared in The China Decorator, The China Painter and The British Porcelain Artist. Classes are designed for both beginning and experienced painters. Each session includes the completion of at least one instructor led project, or for the more advanced, the option to work independently. Register at least seven days in advance of each session.
