     MISCELLANEOUS:

     1.5  Waiver of Design Standards No. 99004, requested by Robert Ross, on
          behalf of Infinity S Development, to waive requirements for 
          sidewalks along S. 1st Street, on property generally located at S
          1st Street and Rose Street.
          Planning staff recommendation: Approval of the waiver for
          sidewalks along the west side of S. 1st Street so long as
          the developer agrees to not object to an assessment district for
          the installation of sidewalks when so ordered in by the City.

     1.6  Street & Alley Vacation No. 98019, requested by Jerome S. Lang, of
          Thomasbrook Associates, on behalf of the abutting property owners,
          to vacate a portion of West M Street, West L Street, and SW

          Planning staff recommendation: Conformance with the

     CHANGE OF ZONE:

     3.1  County Change of Zone No. 186, requested by Sherrie Gregory, from
          AG Agricultural District to AGR Agricultural Residential District,
          on property generally located at NW 120th and West Fletcher.
          Planning staff recommendation: Denial
          Had public hearing.  Held over for CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING 
          AND ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION on May 5, 1999, at the applicant's 
          request.

     CHANGE OF ZONE WITH RELATED ITEMS: 

     3.2a County Change of Zone No. 187, requested by Gary Butts, on behalf

     3.3b Change of Zone No. 3176, requested by the Interim Director of 
          Planning,  to amend Section 27.63.530 of the Zoning Ordinance,
          to allow an adjustment to the height and yards for domiciliary
          care facilities.  
          Planning staff recommendation: Approval  
          Had public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation: 
          APPROVAL, 7-0.

     3.3c Special Permit No. 552B, requested by Michael Bott, on behalf of
          Christian Retirement Homes, Inc., for expansion of existing 
          elderly housing and nursing home facility with domiciliary care 
          and elderly housing, with adjustments to the height, on property
          generally located at 64th Street and "O" Street.
          Planning staff recommendation: Conditional Approval

          CONDITIONAL APPROVAL, 7-0.

     PERMITS:

     3.4  Special Permit No. 922D, requested by Brian Carstens, on behalf of
          Olston's Import Auto, to expand existing salvage yard, on property
          generally located at N. 33rd Street and Gladstone.

          until the information regarding the location of wetlands has been
          provided

          N. 40th Street and Arbor Road. *** FINAL ACTION *** 
          Planning staff recommendation: Conditional Approval

     PLATS:

     3.6  Preliminary Plat No. 97035, Meints Addition, requested by J. D. 
          Burt, with Design Associates, for 3 Industrial and Commercial 
          lots, on property generally located at N. 23rd Street and 
          Cornhusker Highway.
          ** Planning staff recommendation: Deferral for 2 weeks at the
          request of the applicant.  There is no staff report on this item
          at this time.
          Planning Commission voted to DEFER for public hearing 
          and administrative action on 5/05/99, at the request of staff.

     MISCELLANEOUS: 

     3.7  Waiver of Design Standards No. 99003, requested by Robert Ross, on
          behalf of Infinity S Development, to waive requirements for paving,
          sidewalks, and lot frontage, on property generally located at S.
          1st Street and Garfield Street.
          Planning staff recommendation: Approval of the waiver for
          sidewalks along the south side of Garfield St. so long as the
          developer agrees to not object to an assessment for the 
          installation of sidewalks when so ordered in by the City; Approval
          of the waiver for the paving of Rose Street to the south; Denial
          of the waiver of the lot frontage of Lot 49.  Combine Lots 49 
          and 50 into one lot and include it with the administrative final
          plat. 
          Had public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation: APPROVAL 
          OF STAFF RECOMMENDATION, 7-0.

     3.8  Street Vacation No. 99002, requested by the University of Nebraska-
          Lincoln, to vacate a portion of U Street, from the east line of 
          vacated N.14th Street to 120' west of the west line of N.
          16th Street, located at N. 14th Street and U Street.
          Planning staff recommendation: Conformance with the
          Comprehensive Plan and Conditional Approval  
          Had public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation: 
          CONFORMANCE WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND CONDITIONAL APPROVAL, 
          with amendments deleting Condition #2 and amending Condition #3, 
          7-0.

     COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ANNUAL REVIEW:

     4.1  Amendment No. 94-30-11, pursuant to the 1999 Comprehensive Plan
          Annual Review, requested by the Interim Director of Planning, at
          the request of the Public Works & Utilities Department, to 
          increase the number of lanes and right-of-way width of East O 
          Street  between 52nd Street and Wedgewood Drive.   
          Staff recommendation: Amend Figure 29, Figure 31, Figure 32 and
          Table 10 as set forth in Planning staff memorandum dated April 6, 
          1999  
          Had continued public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation:
          APPROVAL OF THE STAFF RECOMMENDATION AS SET FORTH IN MEMORANDUM
          dated April 6, 1999.
