    1.5  Miscellaneous No. 00002, requested by the Director of the Urban
         Development Department, to find an area generally bounded by N
         Street on the south, N. 26th Street on the west, X Street on the
         north, and N. 27th Street on the east, to be blighted and sub-
	 standard.
         Planning staff recommendation: Finding that the area is blighted
         and substandard
         Planning Commission recommendation: A FINDING THAT THE AREA IS
	 BLIGHTED AND SUBSTANDARD, 7-0.

    1.6  Miscellaneous No. 00003, requested by Michael Johnson, with Olsson
         Associates, on behalf of Home Realty, Inc. and Northridge Heights
         Partners, to correct a survey error by vacating Lots 36, 37, 38,
	 and 39, Block 1, Northridge Heights 6th Addition, and Outlot A,

         Neighborhood Business District, with waiver requests to reduce the
	 front, side, and rear yard setbacks, and to delay specific site
	 plan information until each site is developed, on property gener-
	 ally located at S. 14th Street, 1/2 Mile south of Pine Lake Road.
         Planning staff recommendation: Conditional Approval
         Had public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation: CONDI-
	 TIONAL APPROVAL, 6-1 (Duvall dissenting).

    3.2  Special Permit No. 879D, requested by Allan LaDuke, with Gardens
	 Complex, L.L.C., to add a parking lot, on property generally
	 located at 131 S. 45th Street.
         Planning staff recommendation: Denial
         Had public hearing.  Motion for conditional approval failed 4-3
	 (Schwinn, Carlson, Duvall and Bayer voting 'yes'; Steward, Taylor
	 and Newman voting 'no;).  HELD OVER FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION on
	 June 14, 2000.  Public hearing was closed.

    3.3  Special Permit No. 1840, requested by Dan Muhleisen, on behalf of
	 Union Bank & Trust Company, for a parking lot, on property gener-
	 ally located at S. 47th Street and Hillside Street.
         Planning staff recommendation: Denial
         Had public hearing.  Planning Commission recommendation: COND-
	 ITIONAL APPROVAL, with amendment, 5-2 (Schwinn, Steward, Taylor,
	 Duvall and Bayer voting 'yes'; Carlson and Newman voting 'no').

    3.4  Special Permit No. 1841, requested by L. W. Hoffman, to display
	 autos for sale in the front yard, on property generally located
	 at N. 29th Street and Cornhusker Highway.  *** FINAL ACTION *** 
	 Planning staff recommendation: Denial
         Had public hearing.  Scheduled for CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING AND
	 ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION ON JUNE 14, 2000.

    3.5  Street & Alley Vacation No. 00004, requested by Charles Salem,
	 to vacate the westernmost 20' of 11th Street right-of-way,
	 adjacent to Lot 2, Van Boskirk Addition, generally located at S
	 11th Street and B Street.
         Planning staff recommendation: Denial
         Had public hearing.  Planning Commission granted applicant's
	 request for two-week deferral.  Scheduled for CONTINUED PUBLIC
	 HEARING AND ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION on June 14, 2000.

	 waive block length, ornamental lighting, landscape screens,
