The attribute accuracy is near 100%. The cover is built or cleaned each time any changes are made and acres are recalculated. A describe is done on the dataset to insure that there are the correct number of polygons and that there are no label errors.
The dataset is topologically clean. Each valid polygon has a coded label point with attribute information attached. There are no sliver polygons and no lines are entered twice. There are no overshoots or undershoots (dangles). The coverage was originally built using ArcInfo.
The information in this dataset is constantly changing and as such this dataset represents a snapshot in time. Accuracy of the the attribute information is near 100%.
Accuracy will range from less than 6 inches to sometimes 20 feet or more. The reason is that the arcs in this dataset should generally overlay those of the landbase sectional plats. When this dtaset was created this was generally the case. However, as the underlying landbase for the county has been shifted to match GPS corners for each section, there has not always been time to edit the arcs on this dataset to match those of the landbase datasets. As time permits the arcs on this dataset will be adjusted to match those of the landbase datasets
A map is sent to the Lancaster County Election Commission for mark-up. The map is then sent back to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Dept whereby the edits are performed on the digital file following either parcel boundaries, corporate limits or voting precinct boundaries. An updated map is then produced and given back to the Election Commission for distribution.
