With updating, I believe Pershing Center can be a viable and useful facility for many current clients and community events. This is a landmark building that deserves another 50 years.

I really enjoy the idea of Lincoln having a city aquarium, although I think that it would be best suited to be located by the lincoln zoo. If this were to happen, the zoo would have a chance to revamp its image. I believe that a "marketplace" would not be the best idea seeing that we have the farmers market over in the Haymarket. When the time comes for the new arena to be built it would be a good idea to create an open structure to house a marketplace. I believe that the Pershing Center definitely has a place for decades to come. I belive that it should be used more as a multifunctional facility for street concerts, tournaments, etc.

I forgot to add that the idea of a newer downtown library is an excellent idea. Unfortunately it wouldn't be economically viable to do so currently considering we (as a city) almost closed a couple of libraries. If new alternative revenue resources were created I could see Pershing turning into a wonderful new library. The addition of more square feet around the complex and hopefully rennovating the restrooms into a more modern space would be great. The current downtown library could then be turned into more commercial retail/restaurant/office space seeing that it is right next to "O" street. I could see this being available between 2015-2020.
