Final PARS Report Available Online

The Final Report from the Pershing Adaptive Reuse and Site (PARS) Study is now available for viewing online. This Report summarizes the task findings and overall conclusions of the multi-month PARS process. Included in the document is an historic narrative on Pershing, the opportunities and constraints of the structure and site, a professional conducted analysis of the Center's physical condition, a review of the community engagement process, and a presentation of ideas for its future use.

The combination of community engagement and work by the PARS Committee resulted in the following "Ideas List" as being the potential options for the future of the Pershing building and/or site:

Art Ideas

Business Ideas Educational Ideas Entertainment Ideas Public Service Ideas Recreation Ideas

The working "Ideas Lists" also envisions the potential for a reuse of the building and/or site involving a multiple use venue.

Stakeholder Interview Report Released

A Summary Report of over two dozen interviews with "Pershing Center Stakeholders" was released in October of 2008. The Summary Report presents the thoughts of the local stakeholders interviewed about the future adaptive reuse of Pershing Center and the site. A structured interview format was used in conducting the research. Those persons interviewed were asked a range of questions regarding the appropriate treatment of the building in the future; the type of uses which should and should not be considered for the Center; the use of "Green Technologies" in its rehabilitation; the future status of the Mural on the western entrance; and many other topical items.
