Department Services

The Lincoln Police Department employs interns during spring, summer and fall semesters. We average 4-6 interns each semester but this number depends on the needs of particular units within the department. The Lincoln Police Department accepts interns from any accredited institution.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Acceptable criminal history
- Good references
- Internship must be for college credit

- Crime Prevention
- Mental Health Liaison
- Crime Analysis
- Management Services
- Victim/Witness
- ID/Fingerprinting
Internships have proven to be an excellent experience for students as well as a great introduction to law enforcement at the Lincoln Police Department. It is the perfect stepping stone for students interested in becoming a police officer.
