Bike Patrol Benefits from Donation

The Lincoln Police Bike Patrol has benefited as a result of a generous donation from the Great Plains Bicycle Club. The GPBC used half of its net proceeds from the Spring Fling Bike Ride on April 22, 2006 to purchase almost $1000.00 in cycling accessories and supplies for the LPD bike patrol. Blue's Bike and Fitness of Lincoln, who provided mechanic and SAG support for the GPBC Spring Fling, generously opened its doors for the LPD Bike Patrol in a shopping spree. Items which were purchased for the bike patrol included 9 bike helmets, 9 LED tail lights, 9 headlight systems, 12 bicycle tubes, 5 bike chains and 6 repair kits that include a seat pack, tire levers, tire pump, patch kit and a folding multi-tool.

The Great Plains Bicycle Club is a general, non-racing bicycling club that sponsors rides most weekends from mid-March to mid-November. For more information on the bike club and the Heat Stroke 100 Bike Ride on August 26th, 2006 please check out their site at Great Plains Bicycle Club.
