Suspended Drivers Arrested after Court Appearances

The Lincoln Police Department conducted a Suspended License Enforcement Project for a month this summer that was a bit different than others we have done in the past. On twelve separate occasions, plainclothes officers sat in on the court proceedings of drivers who had multiple suspended license violations. Once the violator left the court, the officers watched to see if the suspended driver would leave the Hall of Justice and then drive their vehicles from the court house.

Seventeen drivers who had suspended licenses drove away from the court and were arrested for driving on a suspended license. One of these drivers was caught driving away from court on two separate occasions.
