Lincoln Man Responsible for Multiple Commercial Burglaries

Andrew J. Moore, age 33, was arrested on 7-12-2006 at 18th & N Street after he ran from officers that attempted to stop him for having fictitious license plates on his vehicle. Moore was arrested after a short foot pursuit and in addition to the 1.37 lbs of marijuana he was carrying, had stolen items in the trunk of the 92 green Pontiac Bonneville that he was driving. Team Detective Sergeant Erin Sims determined that the stolen items in Moore’s trunk connected him with nine commercial burglaries in Lincoln. Moore was arrested in connection with these burglaries and Sergeant Sims continued her investigation. It has been determined that Andrew J. Moore is responsible for 156 total offenses that occurred over the past 10 years. Of these 156 offenses he is responsible for committing 128 commercial burglaries, 25 larceny from buildings, 1 larceny from vehicle, 1 alarm call and 1 pursuit which involved a hit and run accident. The total amount of loss in these offenses is $97,254. The total damage is $27,515. During this period of time Andrew J. Moore was sentenced and served time through the Nebraska Department of Corrections for burglary and forgery, from June 2001 until he was paroled in May of 2002 and discharged in March of 2004. During his sentence he was released on several occasions on a pass and during these outings committed six burglaries. While released on parole, Moore committed seven of his burglaries. Andrew J. Moore is currently in jail awaiting trial on the original drug and theft charges from this summer.
