FALL SAFETY AND SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT SUMMARY
On Saturday evening, October 25, 2008 from 10:00 p.m. until Sunday morning, October 26, 2008 at 2:00 a.m., the Lincoln Police Department conducted a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on Cornhusker Highway from N 20th - N 23rd Streets. This sobriety checkpoint was part of increased enforcement efforts funded by a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
During the detail, 663 total vehicles came through the checkpoint. Every fifth vehicle was stopped, resulting in contacts of 132 drivers. Eighteen drivers were detained for field sobriety testing with ten arrested for DWI. The following list summarizes other citations issued during the project.
