Third Homicide Reported in Lincoln for 2008
On 10-25-08, at 9:48pm, officers were sent to a disturbance in the area of Capitol Avenue and E Street. Several callers stated that a teen was in the street telling others that he had done something bad. Officers searched the 19 year old man's home and found his 50 year old mother, Sherry Sue Fox, deceased in the basement. She sustained injuries consistent with a homicide. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 28th. The teen, Matthew Allen Fox, was taken into custody. He has been lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for 1st degree Murder. Matthew has no criminal record with the Lincoln Police Department. This incident is his first reported contact with our agency.
