"Back to School" Traffic Enforcement Project Summary
The Lincoln Police Department conducted its “Back to School” Traffic Enforcement Project from Wednesday, August 20th through Friday, August 29th. This project, funded by a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, allowed the placement of additional officers each day, at and around the public and parochial schools in Lincoln for the purpose of traffic and pedestrian safety. Though the project only ran for two weeks, officers will continue speed enforcement in school zones throughout the school year.
Officers involved issued a total of 1,212 citations.
