Investigation Begins in Fatal Stabbing
At 11:58am on March 13, 2009, Lincoln Police were sent to 1338 D Street #6 on a possible stabbing. Family members found the 30 year old male with obvious injuries, not breathing. They attempted to resuscitate the victim with CPR, but he did not survive. Just twenty minutes prior to the discovery, family members spoke with the victim over the phone. There was no indication of danger; they just arranged to stop by for a visit.
When they arrived to 1338 D Street, a secure building, an unknown man was leaving. He has been described as a black or Hispanic male, in his 20s, 5'9", thin, with long hair secured in a ponytail. He was last seen leaving northbound, on foot, wearing a green winter jacket and jeans. Lincoln Police do not know if the man is involved in the incident, but would like to speak with him. Based on the initial information, there is a 20 minute window for which the stabbing occurred. This unknown man may have seen or heard something to assist with the investigation.
The name of the victim has not yet been released. This is the first homicide in Lincoln in 2009.
