Chance Paap Arrested in Death of Friend
Lincoln Police are in the initial stages of investigating a suspicious death in southeast Lincoln. While looking into the case of a missing twenty-eight year old Lincoln man, an LPD sergeant spoke with twenty-three year old Chance Paap. We learned that, in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 31, 2009, while negligently handling a handgun, Chance shot his twenty-eight year old friend. Immediately after the death, Chance panicked and fled the state. He returned to Lincoln on November 3, 2009 and reported the death to Lincoln Police. The victim's body was discovered in a closet at Chance Paap's residence, 1431 S. 28th Street.
Chance has been lodged in the Lancaster County jail for Manslaughter.
