Lincoln Police Search for Assault Suspects

On Saturday, August 22, 2009, at 3 a.m., a 27 year old man was traveling northbound on S. 48th Street from Old Cheney. He got into a rolling argument with several unknown men in another vehicle. At approximately S. 48th & Meredeth Street, the other vehicle came to a stop in the roadway. The victim stopped behind it and exited his vehicle. At that point, the victim engaged in a physical confrontation with one of the male passengers. During the altercation, another passenger approached from behind and sliced the victim's throat with a sharp bladed object. The victim received at least seven stab wounds before he fled to his vehicle. The victim was able to drive himself to a hospital, where he remains, with extensive injuries.

Lincoln Police need your help in identifying the suspects. The first suspect, whom the victim initially fought with, was described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years of age, 5'10", 250-320 pounds. The second suspect, armed with the weapon, was described as a Hispanic male, 25-30 years of age, 5'10", 250-320 pounds, wearing glasses. The driver, who never exited the vehicle, was in a red Ford Ranger extended-cab truck.
