Surveillance Photos Released of Sexual Assault Suspect

The Lincoln Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying a man responsible for assaulting an 18 year old female on Wednesday, September 22, 2010, near 24th & N Streets. At approximately, 6:45pm, the woman was walking southbound on S 25th Street when an unknown male walked up next to her and started a conversation. She attempted to walk away from him, but he continued to keep up with her. Upon reaching the alley just north of the Family Dollar, the man grabbed her and drug her into the alley. He succeeded in pulling her to the ground, ripping her clothing and touching her inappropriately. Customers and others nearby heard her screams and confronted the suspect. He was last seen running northbound toward O Street. Video surveillance was recently obtained of the suspect walking past a nearby business. If you have additional information please call the Lincoln Police Department at 441-7204 or Crimestoppers 475-3600.

Investigators believe the suspect may also be responsible for three other incidents involving attacks on women. Many of these offenses occurred late at night, along 27th Street/Washington-Vine. The suspect description is vague: a white male, late teens to mid-20s, medium height, medium build with short dark blonde to brown hair. He has never been seen with a vehicle.
