Lincoln Police Department Spring Graduation and Awards Ceremony
The Lincoln Police Department is proud to announce the Spring 2010 Academy Graduation and Awards Ceremony to be held in the Lincoln Ballroom of the Holiday Inn, 141 N. 9th Street, on Wednesday, May 26th at 7:00 p.m.
Sixteen officers are graduating from this academy class. All of these officers have completed a rigorous 18-week training academy to become the latest additions to the city's police force. The new officers received classroom and practical training in topics ranging from Criminal Law and Cultural Diversity to Firearms Proficiency and Emergency Driving. On Thursday, they begin the next phase of the training. For the next several months, they will be assigned to field training officers before beginning solo team positions.
Several new officers will be recognized with four special awards for outstanding performance. Awards will also be presented to veteran officers and civilians during the ceremony for life saving, exceptional duty and meritorious conduct.
