Local Investigation of Matthew Bovee
In August of 2010, a former Lincoln resident, Matthew S. Bovee was indicted by a grand jury in Kerr County, Texas, for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency of a Child by Sexual Contact. He was accused of molesting an 11-year-old boy at Camp La Junta summer camp in 2009. He allegedly touched the boy's private parts while screening campers as they emerged from showers to ensure they were clean.
On May 10, 2011, Matthew Bovee admitted to sexually assaulting a child and pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of Injury of a Child with Intent to Harm. In a deal with prosecutors, he was sentenced to 10 years of probation. He was arrested just three months later for violating several terms of that probation. Matthew Bovee later pled "true" and was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Prior to leaving Lincoln in 2008, twenty-two year old Matthew Bovee was employed as a youth fitness trainer and lifeguard. Due to his frequent contact with children, there is a possibility that there are victims in the Lincoln area.
