"Click It or Ticket" Enforcement Results
The Lincoln Police Department's Traffic Enforcement Unit participated in a statewide "Click it or Ticket" enforcement effort from Monday, November 21, through Sunday, November 27, 2011. Special attention by law enforcement officers was directed to those motorists who failed to buckle up themselves, their passengers and children. Funding for this project was provided by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
In conjunction with the project, a count of seat belt use was conducted at seven high volume intersections throughout the city both prior to and after the detail. The count reflected an estimated 5.76% increase in seat belt use after the detail was completed.
