Search Underway for Missing Two Year Old

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a missing person case involving a two year old child. On August 19, 2011, at 10:15 am, Jontaia Portillo was taken by her biological mother, Melissa Portillo, during a supervised visitation at 349 S. 26th Street. They left in a white 1990s model Buick Park Avenue. At this time, circumstances do not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert to be issued. The case is being investigated as a Class IV Felony Violation of Child Custody. An arrest warrant has been issued for Melissa Portillo. She is a 24 year old, Hispanic female, 5'5", 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Melissa was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue pants. Jontaia is a black female, with black hair in pig tails and brown eyes. She was last wearing a blue shirt and plaid shorts.

Update: Melissa and JonTaia were contacted Saturday evening, August 20, 2011, in New Mexico. They were safely located at a family member's home. Both will be transported back to Lincoln.
