Successful Liquor Project in Southeast Lincoln
On Friday, April 29, 2011 and Saturday, April 30, 2011, officers of the Lincoln Police Department's Southeast Team conducted a liquor compliance detail. Two plain clothed officers visited twenty licensed liquor establishments to check for compliance with state and local liquor laws.
From March 2010-March 2011, there were fifty-eight calls for service at bars and taverns in the Southeast Team area. Offenses included disturbances, assaults, narcotic use and vandalism. The goal of the project was to ensure that the area businesses comply with liquor laws in order to provide a safe environment for their patrons.
Captain of the Southeast Team, Kim Koluch, reports that no violations were observed. No citations were issued. As a part of the project, letters will be sent to the owners of these establishments, advising them of the results.
