"You Drink & Drive. You Lose." Campaign Summary
During the month of December, the Lincoln Police Department joined law enforcement agencies nationwide by participating in the "You Drink & Drive. You Lose." enforcement campaign. This special holiday enforcement was held from Wednesday, December 1, 2010 through Friday, December 31, 2010. Officers conducted visible enforcement to remove drug and alcohol impaired drivers from our roadways. With the assistance of an overtime grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, on-duty officers were supplemented with additional officers during peak enforcement times. Dedication was apparent with a DWI arrest made every day during the month of December. Saturday, December 18th, 2010 was the most active with nineteen DWI arrests by Lincoln police.
The number of DWI arrests, during this project, totaled 198. Of those 198 arrests,
82 arrests were DWI-Aggravated (drivers with a BAC over .15) 1 arrest was over .30 BAC 6 arrests were for felony DWI violations 5 arrests were for .02 violations 9 arrests were for refusing a chemical test 2 arrests were DRE (drug recognition) cases
