Lincoln Police Department Graduation and Awards Ceremony
The Lincoln Police Department is proud to announce the Fall 2011 Academy Graduation and Awards ceremony to be held in the Lancaster Room of The Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S. 13th Street, on February 15, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.
Six officers are graduating from this academy class. All of these officers have completed a rigorous 21 week training academy to become the latest additions to the city's police force. The new officers received classroom and practical training in topics ranging from Criminal Law to Cultural Diversity to Firearms Proficiency and Emergency Driving. On Thursday, February 16, 2012, they begin the next phase of their training. For the next several months, they will be assigned to field training officers before beginning solo team positions.
Some of the new officers will be recognized with four special awards for outstanding performance. Awards will also be presented to veteran officers and civilians during the ceremony for Officer of the Year, Civilian Employee of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Life Saving, Exceptional Duty and Meritorious Conduct.
