Lincoln Police Department Mourns Loss of Fellow Officer
The Lincoln Police Department lost a dear and valued officer on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. At 8:20pm, Officer Anthony Howe was traveling to work from his residence in York, Nebraska, when he was involved in a single car accident on Interstate 80. The accident itself is still under investigation by York County Sheriff's Office.
Officer Howe was an 8 year veteran of the Lincoln Police Department and was assigned as an investigator with Criminal Investigations Unit. During his career, Tony worked on Northwest, Center and Southwest Teams. He also served as a member of Field Force, a member of Honor Guard and guided many new officers as a Field Training Officer.
Officer Howe began his law enforcement career with the York Police Department in 1996. He then worked 6 years with the York County Sheriff's Office before being hired by the Lincoln Police Department. Tony is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and three children. Officer Howe will be remembered as an excellent officer, dedicated family man, and good friend to all.
