Police Service Desk Hours Reduced
The Lincoln (NE) Police Department is announcing new hours for its Service Desk located in the Hall of Justice building, 575 S. 10th Street. Effective Thursday, October 25, 2012, the Service Desk will begin new operating hours; opening at 8:00 a.m. and closing to the public at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Public Service Specialists will no longer staff the desk during evenings and weekends.
During these new hours, the same services will be available to citizens. The hours were adjusted slightly due to the merger of responsibilities between the support functions of the Lincoln Police Department Service Desk and the Emergency Communications Center. As is the current practice, citizens can access police services afterhours by using the phone available in the outer lobby of the building. This phone provides direct contact with public safety personnel. Phone numbers to access police services in Lincoln remain the same. Citizens can call 911 for an emergency and 402-441-6000 for non-emergency requests for service.
