Lincoln Police Conduct Arrest Warrant Detail
On Thursday, May 15, 2014, members of Lincoln Police Department's Southwest Team, Southeast Team, Center Team, Traffic Unit, Canine Unit, and Emergency Communications Center conducted a large scale arrest warrant detail. Officers saturated the city in two-person teams, contacting as many offenders as possible. The organized effort was to help reduce the high volume of arrest warrants in Lincoln. The detail proved successful with 342 warrants attempted and 51 warrants served. The individuals arrested were wanted for misdemeanor offenses.
Meanwhile, several officers also participated in a "saturation detail". They patrolled specific areas of Lincoln, taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued 157 official traffic citations and 118 warning citations. In addition, 5 individuals were arrested for felony narcotics violations, 18 other narcotics citations were written and 14 misdemeanor citations were issued including theft, panhandling, carrying concealed weapon and domestic assault.
