Investigation Continues in Maurice Williams Homicide

The Lincoln (NE) Police Department is investigating the death of 21 year old Maurice Lamont Williams. On August 30, 2014 at 1:03 a.m., officers were called to Maurice's residence, 5062 R Street #1115. Witnesses reported several unknown men forced their way into the apartment. At least one man was armed, in what appeared to be a home-invasion robbery. Maurice engaged in a struggle with the suspects, when one shot was fired. Maurice was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest. Life-saving efforts were attempted at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital. At 1:39 a.m., Maurice Williams was pronounced deceased. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

The suspects, described as black males, mid-twenties, 6'0" tall, fled the scene. Their identities are not known. Investigators continue to conduct interviews and follow leads. This is the sixth homicide reported in Lincoln in 2014.
