"Back to School" Traffic Enforcement Project Results

On September 9, 2016, the Lincoln Police Department completed its annual 'Back to School' traffic enforcement project. The project was conducted August 22 through September 9 with specific emphasis on traffic enforcement at and around the various public and parochial schools in Lincoln. The project, funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, resulted in the following violations:

Total citations, warnings and arrests 1,552
Speeding, official citations: 705
Speeding, warning citations: 133
Traffic signal violation, official citation: 12
Traffic signal violation, warning citations: 6
Stop sign, official citation: 5
Stop sign, warning citation: 1
No seatbelt, official citations: 162
No seatbelt, warning citations: 38
Child restraint, official citations: 10
No insurance, official citations: 79
No insurance, warning citations: 49
No valid registration, official citations: 76
No valid registration, warning citations: 68
