"You Drink & Drive. You Lose." Campaign Results
The Lincoln Police Department conducted their "You Drink & Drive. You Lose." campaign December 4, 2015 through January 2, 2016. During that time, officers conducted high visibility traffic enforcement and took a zero tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcoholic liquor and/or drugs. During the campaign, the Lincoln Police Department made 103 DWI/DUI arrests, a decrease of 30% from 2014. Funding for this project was provided by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
Of the campaign totals for the month of December:
9 arrests were for refusing a chemical test 7 arrests were for drug impairment (DRE) offenses 1 arrest was a .02 violation (under the age of 21) 7 were felony DWI/DUI arrests 24 motor vehicle accidents were investigated in which alcohol involvement was suspected 20 people (19%) were arrested for at least their 2nd offense 6 people (5%) were arrested for a 3rd offense 3 people (2%) were arrested for a 4th offense average tested BAC was .158, the highest being .360 average age for those arrested was 32 years old
