MicroStation V8i SS3 / GEOPAK V8i SS3 Initial Release

August 8, 2015

The SS3 release introduces OpenRoads to the City of Lincoln's workspace. This initial release will not solely rely upon all of the new features, rather take advantage of the best of both worlds. Essentially, we will use the OpenRoads Templates to generate a corridor model to create roadway cross sections as well as the 3D render-ready model. Horizontal and vertical profiles will still require the D&C Manager for "final" drafting. All quantities will still require the D&C Manager for placement and quantification. Sheet generation will continue to use the current proven methods.

The new workspace will be an evolution as Best Practice methods are developed. As we continue to take advantage of the new technology, the workspace will continue to grow and expand. I would purpose that there will be a steady stream of updates to follow.

Future Additions: 3D models and animations, SUE / SUDA (GIS interaction), Civil Cells, Sheet Generation

As always, I would like to hear feedback; do not hesitate to contact with questions, concerns or solutions.
