Additional Construction Work

The City of Lincoln is not the only entity working in the public right of way. Other entities with construction projects include but are not limited to: Lancaster County, NDOT, LES, Black Hills Energy, railroads (BNSF, UPRR, OL&B), and private telecommunications (Allo, Windstream, Charter, Unite, Level 3, and Sprint). Private development construction agreements (PCAs) and special assessment districts may also complete work in the public right of way.

During 2018, Allo and the City of Lincoln will continue buildout of communications infrastructure.

Green Light Lincoln

Green Light Lincoln is an initiative to improve traffic flow and traffic safety city-wide. Phase 1 of Green Light Lincoln was finalized in February 2018, and Phase 2 will be the focus of 2018. Learn more about Green Light Lincoln at lincoln.ne.gov, keyword “GL2.”

Events That May Affect Construction in the Public Right of Way

Community events also play a large role in construction scheduling. Whenever possible, the City of Lincoln works to accommodate the needs of community events, such as festivals, sporting events, road races, and neighborhood events.
