West "A" from SW 40th to Coddington

Preliminary plans have been prepared for West "A" Street from just west of Coddington Avenue to just west of SW 40th Street. Because funding has not been identified for right of way or construction, the project has been placed on-hold indefinitely.

West "A" Street is designed to meet current City design standards for urban roadways. These standards include curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalks, and right and left turn lanes where appropriate. Current plans follow the City's Comprehensive Plan and Design Standards, which calls for West "A" Street to have two through lanes (one in each direction) with right and left-turn lanes.

The Comprehensive Plan also indicates that a pedestrian / bicycle trail should be built along West "A" Street from SW 27th Street to SW 40th Street.

Once funding is identified for right of way acquisition and construction, we will complete design and begin the right of way acquisition process.
