Public Invited to Antelope Valley Progress Meeting

The Parks & Recreation Department invites the public to an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 22 to review the recent progress and future construction plans of the Antelope Valley area between 'J' and 'O' Streets. The meeting will be at Elliott Elementary School, 225 South 25th Street at 7:00 p.m.

Antelope Valley construction projects south of O Street are scheduled to begin in January and should continue through 2009. Plans for this year include the replacement of the parking lot south of Lewis ballfields near 24th and 'J' Streets, the removal of the parking lot north of Lewis ballfields near Kuklin Pool, the construction of a new bridge on 'J' Street and the removal of trees. Additional trees will be planted after construction is completed.

Antelope Valley is a flood control, traffic improvement and community revitalization project in the core of the City. More information is available at lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: antelope). This Web site will have the most current information regarding the construction schedule and traffic accommodations.
