Public Invited to Meeting on Antelope Valley Waterway and Park

The public is invited to a meeting September 16 on the completion of the Antelope Valley waterway from 'S' to 'J' streets and the grading work for Union Plaza. The meeting is from 4 to 7 p.m. at 2143 'O' Street (the former location of Via Van Bloom Tour/Travel). The work is expected to begin this month.

Antelope Valley is a flood control, traffic improvement and community revitalization project in the core of the City. The meeting is sponsored by the Joint Antelope Valley Authority (JAVA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), which is doing the channel work.

The meeting will not include a formal presentation, but representatives of JAVA, USACE, the contractor and the construction team will be present to discuss the proposed improvements.

More information on the Antelope Valley Project is available on the City Web site, lincoln.ne.gov (keyword: antelope). Those needing more information on the meeting can contact Scott Rathjen from the construction management team at 402-610-6264. The meeting room is accessible for persons with disabilities. Those requiring additional accommodations can contact Parsons Brinckerhoff at 402-323-6570.
