Traffic Safety Program Reduces Crashes in City
Mayor Chris Beutler today announced that despite City growth, the number of crashes reported in the City continues to decline. The Mayor released the City’s 2006 Crash Study, which showed that 7,584 crashes were reported to the Police Department that year, the lowest number since 1992.
Mayor Says Traffic Changes Will Greet State Fair and Husker Fans
Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler said the City is ready to welcome visitors headed to the Nebraska State Fair and Husker football games. The State Fair runs from August 22 through September 1, and the Huskers' first home game is August 30.
One-Block Section of Old Cheney Closed
On Wednesday, August 20, a one-block section of Old Cheney Road west of Warlick Blvd. between Hunts Road and 1st Street closed for about seven days for the construction of a 60-inch sanitary sewer line.
