June 30, 2015
The City of Lincoln began construction the week of July 13, 2015 on a concrete pavement repair project along West "O" St. between NW 28th St. and 3rd St.
- Project Area
Intent of Project
This is a pavement preservation project intended to maintain and improve the driving surface of the existing roadway facility. The need for the improvement is based upon information from the City of Lincoln's Pavement Management System (overall condition rating) and visual inspections by City staff. Pedestrian curb ramps that do not meet current Federal and local standards would be reconstructed to meet those standards.
Scope of Work
Construction will include repairing or removing and replacing deteriorated concrete panels, joints and curbs; and sealing joints and cracks. Other work includes removing and replacing damaged storm sewer inlet tops, curb ramps that do not meet Federal and local standards, and reconstruction of traffic signal elements impacted by the work.
Estimated Construction Schedule
Construction will begin the week of July 13, 2015 and be completed by November 2015.
Proposed Accommodation of Traffic During Construction
The work will be completed under lane closures. A minimum of one lane will be open to eastbound and westbound traffic at all times. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained and any access restrictions will be coordinated with the property owner. Properties with multiple entrances will have one entrance open at all times, unless otherwise agreed to by the property owner. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. Alternate pedestrian routes and or detours will be provided during the reconstruction of curb ramps.
All work is anticipated to take place within existing right-of-way and easements.
Property owners, businesses, and associations within the project area will be receiving a Project Information Mailer containing the general scope of work, construction schedule, and points of contact for questions pertaining to the project.
