"P" St. Streetscape Project

11th Street to Centennial Mall

February 14, 2014

The contractor is taking advantage of the break in the weather and will continue working on the south side of "P" St. from 11th St. to 13th St. Access to all businesses and properties will be available throughout the duration of the work. Please help us to maintain a safe work zone and follow all pedestrian detours.

Work begins today at the southwest corner of 11th & "P" St. to reconstruct the sidewalk, curb ramps, some roadway pavement, and to relocate a traffic signal pole. This work is expected to take four weeks and will cause the pedestrian crosswalks to be closed on the south side of "P" St. and on the west side of 11th St. Parking around this corner will be reduced during the duration of the work to provide a work zone. The bus stop on "P" St. in front of the YMCA will remain open as long as possible, but there will be the need to close it during the reconstruction of the curb and pavement in the roadway. Please see the project advisory issued on 2/13/14 PDF for more information about the work taking place at this location and for direction on how the pedestrian detours are set up.

Work continues at the southwest corner of 13th & "P" St. to construct portions of the storm drain and bioswale areas. The sidewalk in this area remains open to the north across "P" St. and to the west along "P" St., but the crosswalk is closed to the east across 13th St. Changes to the pedestrian access will take place in the next couple of weeks as the work progresses and the need to complete the new sidewalk occurs.
