Oak Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer Improvements – Phase 1
Project No. 502941

Construction of Phase I of the Oak Creek Basin Sanitary Trunk Sewer Improvements project began on Oct. 1, 2007. Phase 1 is the initial phase of a long term multi-phased project to replace sections of the existing trunk sewer system in this basin that are undersized with new larger lines. The new larger lines will provide additional conveyance capacity for future growth in the Oak Creek Basin. The project is located in the Lincoln Airport Authority Airpark industrial area.

This project includes: replacing an existing under capacity sanitary trunk sewer along NW 41st Street from Air Park Road to West Mathis Street with a new 42 inch diameter trunk sewer; and, replacing of an existing under capacity siphon crossing Oak Creek at Air Park Road.

Work included realigning an existing storm sewer near NW 41st Street that conflicted with the new trunk sewer grade and replacement of the siphon and related structures. Two (2) new 12 inch diameter HDPE pipes were installed using directional drilling technology to avoid disruption to Oak Creek.
