America Recycles Day 2017

The City and local recyclers will celebrate America Recycles Day with several events beginning Wednesday, November 15. America Recycles Day is a nationally-recognized opportunity to promote recycling and celebrate its benefits.

Wood Waste Collection

Hofeling Enterprises, 2200 Folsom Court

Hofeling Enterprises will accept residential tree limbs at no charge. The debris will be ground up and reused as landscape mulch for area homes and businesses.

Eastridge Parent/Teacher Organization’s 5th Annual Holiday Lights Recycling Drive
Over 50 locations throughout Lincoln. See website for details.

Working and non-working lights can be dropped off at over 50 locations. Visit (select PTO tab) for locations. Ten percent of the funds raised will be donated to the Lincoln Firefighters Operation Warm.

The drive is extended to January 14, 2018 only at Eastridge Elementary, 6245 “L” St.

Scrap Metal Recycling Drive to Support LPS

From America Recycles Day (Nov. 15, 2017) to Earth Day (April 22, 2018), bring scrap metal to Sadoff Iron and Metal Company or Alter Metal Recycling to have it recycled. All types of scrap metal will be accepted, including aluminum and tin cans, pots and pans, appliances, wiring, sinks, bathtubs and electric motors. Residents should notify vendors regarding the amount of recycling revenue that is to be donated to LPS. Funds will help LPS replace worn out steel recycling containers. The old containers will be recycled and replaced with containers manufactured from recycled steel, closing the recycling loop.

Free document shredding

Shredding Solutions and Mid-America Recycling, 440 “J” St.

Shredding Solutions and Mid-America Recycling will donate their document shredding services. Residents may bring up to 75 pounds of paper.
