What is LinGro Compost?

What is LinGro Compost?

The word compost comes from the Latin word for "put together," and the Middle English word for "stew," which is appropriate because compost is a "stew" of organic matter which is decomposed. LinGro Compost is produced from grass clippings, leaves and wood chips. These materials are blended by the Public Works and Utilities Department, Solid Waste Operations. Constant monitoring is performed on all materials to ensure a consistent and high quality product.

LinGro Compost is a humus-like material that is high in organic matter. It is screened with a one-half inch screen to ensure uniform texture. It generally has the following characteristics:

Total Nitrogen (N):2.0-2.6%
Phosphorus (P):0.4%
Potassium (K):1.7-2.0%
pH:7.2-8.4
